Nerve blocks, which are any deliberate interruptions of signals traveling along a nerve, are frequently used for the purpose of pain relief. Nerve blocks tend to last anywhere between several hours to days and often involve the injection of an anesthetic a corticosteroid, and other agents onto or near a nerve.
